Career Goals
I have a knack for working with people, communicating, and wanting to help people better themselves. Those people include my family, friends, and strangers. I love to help people with anything, but if it's a health-related question, you bet I'm all over it, and will definitely do anything I can to help. I wanted to be a teacher at the start of my college career. The only issue I had was that I wanted to teach more about science and kinesiology related content because this is material I am passionate about and absolutely love. Hence, why I switched my major to Exercise Science/Kinesiology and I've not looked back since. My aspirations are to one day get my Masters and Doctorate in Kinesiology and become a professor to teach in this field. I also recently decided to pursue a minor in wellness coaching, as I feel it is very important to me to want to be able to communicate with people more about health, exercise, nutrition, and to help me even more with my desire to help people as much as I possibly can.
My mother is a teacher of 30+ years, and the satisfaction she gets from working with those kids is a feeling that is second to none. Not to mention the impact she has on all of these children's lives day to day, year to year is truly inspiring. That's the type of feeling I one day hope to have, and I truly wish to help make a positive impact on as many people as I possibly can. I believe the experiences I have had at IUPUI over the years has helped shape me into an even more stand out individual, as well as helped me grow into the leader that I am today. And I want to take those leadership skills I have formed from working with clients in programs like the Motor Activity Clinic, INShape, and Camp Brosius and put them to use by being a leader in this field to better shape people who want to learn more about this field and are as passionate as I am about it!
